Blueberry Barn Wedding

Couple kissing at her after blueberry barn

Wedding at Ever After Farms Blueberry Barn | Michelle & Josh

At weddings, blue is often included as it traditionally symbolizes love, purity, and faithfulness. Michelle & Josh went a step further, reinventing the term “something blue” at their Blueberry Barn wedding. Held at Ever After Farms Blueberry Barn, the couple’s wedding was full of blue details including multi-toned florals, deep blue bridesmaid dresses, the groom’s navy suit, and the bride’s sparkly blue shoes.

The Blueberry Barn

Ever After Farms Blueberry Barn is a stunning venue in Central Florida with an expansive blueberry farm, a lush ceremony space tucked between large oak trees, and a large barn perfect for celebrating. The venue is unique and has a serene ambiance, making it an idyllic location for couples to exchange vows.

The First Touch

Before the ceremony, we captured Michelle and her bridesmaids preparing for the big day and Josh spending time with his groomsmen. The outdoor area near the barn provided a beautiful, natural backdrop for portraits. The couple then shared a “first touch” where they stood on opposite sides of a barn door, not looking at one another. In this intimate moment, they read private letters and held hands, excited for the moment they would see one another.

The Ceremony

Michelle & Josh’s ceremony took place in an outdoor area fitted with white pews, twinkle lights, and an altar shaded by a large oak. With blueberry plants in the background and guests seated on either side of the aisle, the ceremony commenced. The bridal party joined Josh at the altar, followed by their “ring security” and flower girl. Finally, it was time for Michelle and her father to walk down the aisle.

When Josh turned to see his bride, he beamed and then smiled even more fiercely when she joined him under the wooden arbor for their vows. The couple read from “his” and “hers” vow books and shared their promises with their family and friends as witnesses. Soon after, they exchanged rings, and the officiant pronounced them husband and wife.

The Portraits at the Blueberry Barn

Before joining their guests in the Blueberry Barn, we captured portraits of the newlyweds. The natural beauty of the venue provided the perfect setting for photos. Josh & Michelle ventured into the blueberry field, and we got several beautiful shots of the couple. After taking a few photos using the natural light and Michelle’s veil, we joined the party in the Blueberry Barn.

The Reception

Michelle & Josh love the Tampa Bay Lightning and incorporated it throughout their reception. They entered the Blueberry Barn to “Thunderstruck” by AC/DC, clad in Lightning jerseys, and their guests cheered them on. With all the excitement, Michelle was swept off her feet (literally). She made a graceful recovery, continuing to dance, and the festivities continued.

Later in the night, guests stood on either side of the Blueberry Barn doors holding sparklers. When the newlyweds appeared, everyone called out their congratulations, happy for the married couple.

Following the sparkler exit, I stole the newlyweds away for final photos by their ceremony space. The darkness created a completely new ambiance and allowed me to play with shadows and different lighting. We incorporated a blue light, in honor of their theme, resulting in my favorite photo of the night. Capturing Josh & Michelle’s special day was a pleasure, and the final photos were the perfect ending to a memorable night.
